French music drifts through the dimly lit space while hard cover books cover one wall, and empty wine bottles another. The Creperie’s manager, Mahoney Kassab, believes it’s one of the most romantic spots in town; and, the reservation list that fills up quickly on dates like Valentine’s Day show that the restaurants many customers agree.
“When I came to the restaurant about two years ago, I fell in love with it,” says Mahoney.
Mahoney has been managing the restaurant for several years now, and he has a strong background in the food industry, having owned a Mediterranean restaurant in Riverbend, a French café on Rice Howard Way, an Italian sandwich shop in west Edmonton and a seafood restaurant in Dubai.
His experience served him well when he started managing TheCreperie, though he admits the restaurant has always held a pretty strong spot in Edmonton’s dining scene.
This French restaurant offers a feeling of style and elegance, but it won’t break your dinner budget. With the title of Edmonton's Most Romantic Restaurant under its belt and candles flickering in intimate dining spaces, this spot is the perfect backdrop for a successful first date. The menu offers something for everyone, with gluten-free options and vegetarian delights. They even offer a special Valentine’s menu.
The Creperie offers a three-course brunch for under $30 for adults. Guests can choose an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Appetizer options include Caesar salad, Mediterranean salad or fruit salad and a croissant. The entrée list is extensive, and includes some gluten-free options. Choose from eggs Benedict to waffles with ham and eggs, steak and egg chasseur, omelettes, crepe a la Reine and crepe cordon bleu. Dessert is a fruit waffle with whipped cream cheese, strawberries and either chocolate or raspberry sauce. Add a mimosa, and you’re set!
They serve up a slew of savoury and sweet crêpes. I recommend the Crepe Jambalaya for a variety of seafood and hot Italian sausage. Finish up with the dessert Crêpe Caribbean with bananas, dark rum, melted Belgian chocolate and more deliciousness on top.
