Ali Roddam’s favourite customers are infants between the age of seven and 10 days.
The Tsawwassen-based photographer, who runs Bellaphoto studio on 56th Street, specializes in infant photography and loves to capture newborns when they're still curling up into a ball, a phase that only lasts the first couple of weeks of their life. Ali has been taking photos of children and families since 2012, but her niche has evolved into newborn photography.
Family photography is a far cry from Ali’s original plan of photographing bands.
“I said I never wanted to do kids and families — I wanted to be a rock photographer,” Ali explains. “But then I had my first baby and I just fell in love with photographing children.”
