Located on Hwy 11, half an hour south of North Bay and 2 1/2 hours north of Toronto, South River has a permanent population of 1,100 which almost doubles in the summer.The village is the paddling entrance to Algonquin Park and can lay claim to being the second busiest Park access after Hwy 60.
