If you like the idea of treating your hair to a day at the spa, Brixton Parlour is the place for you. The hair salon offers 20 different types of hair spa treatments alongside regular services like cutting, colouring and perming. “Your hair isn’t made of iron,” says owner and hair professional Dianna Mauceri. “I learned this the hard way. When I was younger, before I got into hair, I wanted to be the blonde and got a friend to colour my hair for me.”
The result was disastrous: Dianna’s hair was burned and fell out. What was a painful experience for Dianna, but was also a learning experience. It made her realise how much care hair needs in order to thrive. “Whether I’m washing, colouring or blow-drying, I treat clients’ hair as though it was my own.”
