Attentive service, generous portions and flavourful tandoori dishes - We went for mixed Tandoori grill which was succulent and had a great variety and they gave the best butter chicken and Veg Korma I have tasted in town. Open for lunch and late in evening, and good value.
Best Tandoori Food in the town. Amazing Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Tikka. I loved it
The place was packed and full of energy. We didn't have a reservation, but the host was so accomodating and was able to seat us. We have been before and really enjoy the food and service. This is one of our 'top 3' favourite resturants. The portions are generous, the food is fresh and very good and they have the best service in the city. As always - thanks again for a beautiful evening.
So I got to share this not so pleasant experience at this place. It was a late evening on a week day and both of us (my husband and myself) were working late so we decided to go out to grab dinner. Most restaurants were closed so we got this name from the gas station guy and went to check it out .... One thing that you must know there is an older server (man) who has attitude that is pretty annoying and very rude . I do not know if he is an owner or he is part of the family but believe me these are his words of wisdom to us. He said that they have 99% all non "South Asian clientele". Then starts rattling names like the CEO of Rim, some government officials who dine there. Doesn't mean a thing to me personally. He also mentions that the taste of food is very much very UK Bangladeshi food cuisine. Claims that they have been in business for several years may be 25 plus years. Seriously, I think we have long gone the years when Apartheid has been demolished! Would I want to go there again? No - The food was just average and nothing to rave about .
Chicken vegetable and vegetable curry are not bad, if a little too salty. Channa Mosala (chick peas) have a bullet-like texture and are to be avoided. Good naan. Service is subpar. Less than friendly staff don't assume separate bills for the lunch crowd and are known to overbill (for example, charging for naan when it's supposed to be included with a curry as a an alternative to rice.)
how u wil feel if u know some how that ur left over reusing and re served to another customer !!!!!!!!!! i cant even think how health hazardous is that ! ohh god, we have seen it by the windows, while passing to rest room, the old server are doing that, i ve seen to keep separating the chicken pieces of butter chicken, lamb from lamb bhuna, and giving to the chef and i clearly seen chef putting those chicken and lamb to the frying pans which other people orders, wakkkkk !!!
we 5 person went for dinner, ther servers are not polite and didnt welcome us as required, even the restaurant was not even 8people. the atmosphere was below avarage, while we drinks we heard quarrel inside kitchnen very loudly and all other customer was asking each other whats wrong! our meal was arrived so late and nan was not cooked, one of nan was burned out of 5 nan, curry was rubbish, yellow in color and termaric powder smell mostly , my other friend cant even eat half of his meal .
have been going here for quite a few years off and on and we have never grown tired of it and have had great food and service on every visit. have never been disappoined. first went to this restaurant on king Street, quite a few years ago.
I have been traveling for quite a time, when I came across this particular restaurant. The food is extremely delicious, well cooked too. The spices are all blended properly and equally. An authentically good Indian eatery indeed. I came with my friends and they were so impressed by the service...especially the greetings. Customer service was top notch. The restaurant was really clean and well organized. The decor is pretty cozy. I recommend this restaurant to everybody... newcomer or not...
We ordered Koh-I-Noor for take-out last night, and I was very disappointed. If I had been eating in the restaurant, I would have sent m y food back. The nan was very nice, but the rest of the food was flavourless, and the sauces were very thin. I tasted heat and nothing else.
Some of the negative reviews on here are pretty transparent. Oh well, I guess when you serve the best Indian food in town you get a big target painted on your back. Anyways, we go here at least once a month for the past 3 years and are never disappointed. The staff know us by name and are extremely hard working and well versed in dining etiquette. Never noticed any nose picking, LOL!!! The food is prepared fresh and can be made to order with regard to spice level, something I find very helpful with tricky eaters. The chicken is perfect, the naan is great and the portion sizes are great. We usually have left overs! Atmosphere is very quiet, with little background noise other than nearby diners. The location is in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you as the food makes up for the location. All in all this is a quality place and serves (with pride) a great meal.
This was my first taste of Indian food and I visited the restaurant with a friend, who loves the Koh-I-Noor. We tried all sorts of dishes and I loved everything. The staff are friendly, the food temperature was hot and spiced perfectly for us. Will definitely return again!
Very Nice. The Lunch Specials were a really good deal. Love the Nann, usually when i go to other places it's really greasy but here it's very nice. Probably one of the best... Not a big fan of Buffets as they usually don't have nice curries on, so to find this place with large selection of lunch specials was nice. Will recommend to friends, which i usually don't do. And you can be sure I'll be back to try their dinner menu.
This restaurant is great! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very nice. I'm not sure about the complaining of the noise of the wait staff - I have been there MANY times and always enjoyed a quiet dining experience. I have always found that the chicken is cooked perfectly and not tough like others have mentioned. If you like Indian definitely give this restaurant a chance!
Oh, this place is a poor excuse for an Indian restaurant. I guess it really isn't Indian because the owners seem to be Bangladeshi, and it seems that they don't know a thing about Indian cuisine. The tandoori chicken was very tough, i could hardly eat it, i just ate a little bit and left the rest, and the chicken tikka seemed like it was boiled chicken and didn't have any flavour whatsoever. The old waiter also kept picking his nose and was very loud while talking to the bartender. This place sucks. Gross!
The food tastes like garbage here. Gross. Couldn't finish my meal. The meat seems like it's been boiled and reheated.
The quality of the food is always good and the service is excellent. This is the best Indian restaurant I've been to and I've tried many.
Delicious food.Butter chicken is my favourate and oh! nan bread so good.Excellent service.
Very tastey fresh and worm food.I love the Nan bread,it was soft and puffy. It was a very good Experience and the service was good too.We will go back again soon.
Excellent, excellent food. The place is wonderful and my favourate dish was Lamb Bhoona. It was very lean and tender. I will definitely visit again.
