When he was just 19, Simon Tanguay was a Second Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, Quebec Champion for his age group, and 3rd in all of Canada. His dream was to compete in Olympic martial arts. But one day while mountain climbing, he made a risky move, lost his footing and plunged 40 feet. He awoke 19 hours later in the hospital.
“After the fall, my dream of Olympic competition was over,” he explains. “I had difficulty walking, couldn't sit straight and I was in enormous pain.” Simon did the only thing he could: set out on a new mission.” He tried a long list of methods and treatments to find relief from his pain, but was disappointed with the results. Finally, after much trial and error, it was a chiropractor using a system called Applied Kinesiology who was able to ease his pain and get him back on his feet.
That turn of events led Simon on a new path. He completed his doctorate in chiropractic, researched hundreds of pain-relief techniques and completed thousands of hours of supplementary training. Today he heads Clinique Chiropratique Atwater, offering integrative pain treatment to patients looking for relief from pain without drugs or surgery.
