Raplapla; a name that's funny to pronounce if you're three years old. It's also a nice, cuddly stuffed toy that's simply alluring. And finally, it's a children's store located on Villeneuve Street in Montreal.
It all began when Erica Perrot started sewing funny dolls from rags; dolls with a great big smile, huge eyes and crazy hair. Raplapla was born! For four years she sold them in boutiques and on the Internet. Just as she was looking for a studio so she no longer had to work from home, Erica came across a large premises on Villeneuve Street in Montreal. It was love at first sight. In May 2009, the young designer opened Raplapla.
Over the years, the Raplapla collection has expanded to include the brand's star, Mr. Tse-Tse, a doll that helps babies fall asleep. "Sometimes, adults are a bit dubious about it, but babies absolutely adore it," says Erica. The Hibouillouttes, owl-shaped hot water bottles filled with rye and lavender can also be counted among the store's successes.
