Studio 9 Bandes Dessinées

With all the leisure activities available these days, Marc Jetté wonders if future generations will be drawn to what some people refer to as "simple pleasures."  Marc is the owner of Studio 9, a bookstore that specializes in comics books, a pastime that was once considered the unique realm of children.

Like many from his generation, Marc began reading comics at a young age. "I'm of the generation that started collecting," he says. "People of an older generation usually didn't continue to read because it was supposedly something that they had to stop after adolescence."

The oldest of Studio 9's clientele is typically around the age of 55. Many of them come into the store looking for the comics they read in their youth, such as Prince Vaillant and Flash Gordon. "They thank me and leave," explains Marc. "It's almost as if it reminds them of a time that has ended, because people felt that we should stop reading comics past a certain age."
