Where did Calvi get its name? "I fell in love with a girl!" responds its charming owner, Constantin Kyliacou. And yes, it is the love of a summer spent in Corsica - more specifically in Calvi, a small port located in Haute-Corse (Upper Corsica) - that inspired the concept of this restaurant specializing in Mediterranean cuisine.
Constantin Kyliacou was born in Egypt, has Greek ancestors and has been living in Quebec for for more than 50 years. He now shares the establishment's ownership with Adil Seriani and Luc Brière, two former employees, who became shareholders.

Impeccable service, delicious food. I definitely recommend this fantastic restaurant.
Food was tasty and good, except for a potato that was charred black, unacceptable to put that on any dish but trash. We had steak, very tender and perfectly cooked. Also cod was excellent although the server said it came with rice which was not on the plate. Server never came around to ask if everything was well. It is a standard that if you serve pasta you offer parmesan, but no one came around to offer. Very quiet sat night so lack of service unacceptable. Cheescake dessert was excellent.
