I am Japanese and I like this restaurant! I have ordered Sushi only. I haven't tried other menus yet. Sushi is good quality and service is good. I pay around 10 dollars for sushi. (5 pieces of sushi and 8 pieces of maki rolls) It's very very affordable. If other people complain that it's not the best quality, this is not the place to go. You can't get the best quality for 10 bucks. Please go to restaurant owned by Japanese. However, if you're looking for affordable, decent quality sushi, I highly recommend Bento Box. I've been to 4 other Japanese restaurants in Burlington but I only go to Bento Box now. Read more

Many of my friends suggested that I try w sushi so I decided to go with one of my girlfriends that was a returning customer. We arrived for dinner and was greeted with the most kind and helpful waitress ever, we were seated and brought drinks. Our waitress was very helpful, her English was okay, but there was a server there who had perfect English so communication was not a problem. The place was pretty full and busy but not with large groups so the place wasnt loud. The food was very good and the rice was warm and moist, which means they just cooked it. I had a lot to eat and would definitely recommend their sweet shrimp banana roll and the guelph roll, they were both fabulous! This restaurant has excellent sushi. The fish is so fresh and very high quality. The ratio of fish to rice is perfect. I've been eating there since it opened and their quality and great service have been consistent since day 1. Our "go to" meal for two is the medium Sushi Moriawase which is a 30 piece assortment of sushi and maki, a small salad and miso soup. I find the value for the money very good at $30 for two (+ tax and tip). I'm thankful they opened so close to home so I can get a good sushi fix whenever I need one! Read more

My husband and I discovered Dai Ichi several years ago almost by accident on New Year's Eve when the Mandarin was overcrowded and behind on their reservations. I have always been grateful to Mandarin for their ineptitude. Dai Ichi is a small, out of the way place, tucked into a nondescript strip mall near a Longo's and Shopper's Drug Mart, but it is definitely one of the best sushi places in the area. I used to come here quite often when it was under different management. It was always good then and it is still good now. My fiance and I were looking for a good quick lunch, I had been here before so we decided to try it again. We were not dissapointed. The food was fresh, hot and cold where it should have been. Even the miso was tasty, some places make it too salty. The couple that runs the place were friendly and happy to help us. The tempura spicy crab roll was my favorite roll from the old menu, I couldn't find it on the new menu but when I asked they said they could make it for me no problem. The food was made right in front of us and it was ready quick, we barely had to wait more than 10 minutes. It is a small shop, room for only 4 or 5 people to sit down so it is food to take home if you have a big party of people, but you wont regret it. The shop is clean and the ingredients are fresh. The service is friendly and the menu is easy to read and easy to use. Read more

I had my reservations about dining here as it's been at least 2 years since I've been to this Momiji location. However, my usual sushi places were closed on Labour Day, they had Lunch Specials goin' on, so why not? I ordered Sushi Bento (4 nigiri, 6 spicy salmon, 4 tempura) which was $10.50. My bf had Sushi Combo (6 cali, 7 nigiri), $11.50. And we added the Alaska Roll - $7.95 - we didn't think that we'd have enough food. Both Lunch Specials were AMAZING value, including miso soup + salad. So we didn't need the Alaska Roll. Fish was pretty fresh, no pieces fell apart, detailed presentation, good service - having our tea refilled without asking! I have never been here for Dinner, but Lunch Specials are until 3:30pm and GREAT VALUE. So if you're in the Clarkson area, check this place out! Read more
