Named after Toronto’s iconic cherry-red streetcars stationed in the nearby TTC yard, Red Rocket delivers a much-needed jolt to east end commuters with its organic, fair trade beverages made with Reunion Island espresso. After five years in Lesliveille, the coffeehouse recently relocated northward, much to the delight of local caffeine addicts along the Danforth.
Instead of staying with the same brand of beans all the time, Red Rocket mixes things up regularly so you always get the latest in espresso and coffee trends. Although you can pick up your beans anytime you like, you may want to carve out Saturday evenings on your calendar. That’s when they have their weekly comedy nights at 8 p. m., giving you a chance to score some laughs along with some of the best espresso beans in the city.
Partnered with Reunion Island Coffee, Red Rocket features fair trade organic, Rainforest Alliance and Direct Trade Beans. Sandwiches, salads, frozen lattes and hot coffee are just four of the reasons to stop into Red Rocket. If you can’t get to the shop, the vast array of catering options will sustain your friends or co-workers during those long hours spent studying or working.
