I have been a member since 2005 and have used all 3 locations in Edmonton. I have been going to a gym since I was 18 (I'm 34 now). Pros 1. Great Yoga classes. The Monday AM class at Northgate is the best Yoga class I have ever taken and I have taken classes at Yoga studios. 2. Cost. My membership is $23/month and you will NEVER find a cheaper membership. 3. The gym is as clean or cleaner than other gyms I've worked out in. 4. No men, so I don't need to listen to the grunting and groaning in the weight area. 5. Ample cardio machines. I have never waited for a machine. Some of WEM machines have a tv on them. 6. Ample free weights. I have never waited for weights. 7. Several locations in Edmonton. I travel in the City for work and it's nice to have a few options of where I will go. Cons 1. I have never used the "trainers", but their education appears to be lacking. 2. The front desk staff can be a bit unpleasant at the northgate and south side location. However, the WEM front desk always has a wonderful attitude. 3. Customer service is lacking. Anytime I have had a question about my membership I have been referred to Paramount Acceptance (collection agency). It would be nice if they just contacted them on your behalf. 4. The hours. They close at 9 pm weekdays, open only 9-5 Sat and Sundays have the worst hours 10-3 pm. 5. When signing up the staff can try to pressure you. However, this is similar to any gym chain (other than YMCA). A person should take the time to read the fine print, sleep on it etc. Read more

I received a gift certificate to the Body Polish Day Spa from my fiance for Christmas. I've never been to a spa before this one so I don't have as much to compare to what I will say is that my experience was fantastic. The place is so relaxing. Honestly tranquil would be the word to use. The staff is very friendly and my masseuse was terrific. She was very informative and helped me decided between what level of a massage I wanted given that I'd never had one done professionally done before. The ambience was perfect. I practically fell asleep I was so relaxed. Next thing you know the hour session is over and I'm feeling fantastic - super rejuvenated.
