Johnny Roccos is right, this place rocks! Believe me when we take our time rate a place, it's either that it was bad or good. We do have very busy lives so we do spend a lot of time in restaurants dinning executives and sales directors from a very aggressive Financial Services Company, they were delighted with the service and atmosphere, ask for Sylvio he is a young entrepeneur at heart that will host your event dilagently.
Brand new, yet unfortunately derivative. We had dinner on a Friday night; while the service was spectacularly quick, the restaurant was not busy, and thus overstaffed. The mushrooms caps were undersized, and tasted processed. Our pastas were both very undercooked -- al dente would have been a step up. The cheesecake we split was absolutely delicious, enormous, and perfect for two, and the White Wine we chose for our meal was excellent. Ultimately, for over $100, the value is not there; you can have a better dining experience at any number of restaurants in the city. This is not to say that Johnny Rocco's is a BAD restaurant, just that there's nothing worth writing home about. Nothing really GOOD to say. It's just same old, same old, and too costly.
This was my 3rd visit since the restaurant opened. I was excited to have a place in the city to have dinner instead of travelling to St. Catharines all the time. However, this last visit left me disappointed. I had the pasta and the sauce was not nearly as good as it was the first time and it was questionable whether or not the shrimp were cooked fully. My friend had the salmon and asked for it not to be well done and that isn't how it turned out. I hope that this last visit isn't an indication of what we can expect in the future. I'll try it once more, maybe they were having an off night.
i went with a friend of mine and as soon as we opened the door, we were greeted with gusto and shown to our seats, which happened to be extremely non-spacious. But the moment we asked to be seated with a little bit more room, they were more then happy to accomodate us. It was taps night and therefore we ordered the reasonable sized food for small amount of money and enjoyed every bite of the appetizers and entrees. The service was also excellent as they came around and asked how we were doing on a few occasions throughout the meal and were willing to be at our beck and call. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Altho to be honest, it may differ with the servers you receive
