So I Want to la grotta for my anniversary. the ambiance was great and the patio was lovely with lots of flowers. The waiters made as feel at home. Also the food was truly italian and even the bread was home made and thanks la grotta for making your evening very memorable.
I took my husband here for his birthday during August long weekend and it left a terrible impression with him. The net of it was: we came away from the evening with my husband accusing me of leaving the planning of his birthday to the very last minute (given the quality of the service and atmosphere my husband felt that I was scraping the bottom of the barrel to find an available restaurant).
The service was slow, we had to ask for utensils and napkins, and the atmosphere was somewhat lacking on the patio with the plastic patio furniture.
As for the food, we ordered the exact same meal (spaghetti with beef, mushrooms, peppers) yet mine came with all the peppers (and not one mushroom) and my husbands came with all the mushrooms (and not one pepper). This was a bit odd and sloppy I found.
I would have thought that a restaurant in Unionville would have been a little more upscale. Perhaps next time to play it safe, I won’t bother with Unionville or any type of pre-planning and will stick with one of the large brand chains.

I am glad I found this restaurant which has a beautiful patio.
The restaurant was very busy and I am glad we made a reservation because we saw many people being turned away.
We entertained some guests from overseas and they were impressed by the food quality and service.
They also costumized some dietary needs for 1 of my guests.
We ordered off the priced fixed menu and the regular menu.
The veal and pasta dishes were delectable.
